Filming Locations

To make our opening sequence as good as possible, we carefully considered the places where it could take place. The location is the most important in scenes as it is the location that our audience will see the most.

As we only needed to film in a couple of locations, we were able to film most of our opening scene is one go at one location.
We chose to film one of scenes in an abandoned boys locker room.
We made the room to look even more creepy than it already was. Our aim was to make the place look scary, left a chair in the middle of the room where the girl was tied up.

The next location we filmed the rest of our scenes was in a creepy dark narrow road to make our film more suspicious which would make the audience interested in it and would want to go see more

Our Storyboard

After we had finished making our research about into making  thriller films and how to use a storyboard. We started to plan our title sequence. The first thing we had to do in order to create our title sequence was to make a storyboard. We created our storyboard so that we had a good idea of what we were going to do. The storyboard was there to guide us while we are filming, they show us the shots that we will need to film, what type of shots it is and what scene is next.

  1. The first shot is a long shot of a young girl walking on the side of the road at night. This was to show her body language.
  2. The next shot is a close up of the girl's face so that we can see her facial expression.
  3. A long shot from behind  of her walking.
  4. The next is a close up shot of a guy al dressed up in dark colour clothes inside the car waiting.
  5. shot 5 is a close up shot of a hand holding a bunch of ropes.
  6. shot 6 is a medium of the car slowly driving behind the girl, and the lights of the car are on following her down.
  7. shot 7 is a close up of the girls face, to show that she is starting to get suspicious.
  8. shot we have a shot of her feet walking really fast, to show that she is getting worried.
  9. the car starts to speed up as the girl starts to speed walking. this is a behind long shot.
  10. the girl starts to run looking scared we used a long shot showing her running and a close up to show how scared she is.
  11. long shot from the back of her running.
  12. long shot of her trying to get her breath back after the car has driven past her
  13. shot of the girl walking from the side
  14. The hand with the black gloves holding ropes from shot 5 has grabbed her from the side.
  15. a close up of the girl screaming
  16. black out.

the preliminary task

The preliminary task was really useful, I learned how to use a camera and tripod as well as how to upload footage onto the Macs. We also were able to learn some basic editing skills using Final Cut X. One aspect that I found a little harder than I expected was the camera and the tripod, learning to get the right shots took a lot longer than I expected. I can now see that what looks easy and simple on the screen is actually a great deal of work.

I will soon post the video on here

Our preliminary video task was made up 11 shots which included :
  1. There is a long shot of someone walking down a corridor
  2. Then there is cut to a close up of a hand opening the door
  3. Next is a cut of a medium long shot of them walking into a room
  4. The next cut is very fast and it is a medium shot of another person sitting at a desk
  5. The following shot is a long shot of the two people in the room
  6. Then there is an over shoulder shot of the person sitting at the desk and a medium cose up shot of the person who just entred the room and the have a bit of dialogue.
  7. There is another cut of over shoulder shot to the other person who is speaking
  8. It then cuts back again to the first over the shoulder shot to the person sitting at the desk
  9. Its cuts back agin to the person who entred the room
  10. Then there is another cut back to the original shot
  11. The last cut was back to the person who entred the room and then the scene ended with the person walking out  and then blackout.

ART OF THE TITTLE- Taxi driver 1976

This image shows the corporation that made the film.

This shows the name of the actor who plays the main character.

In this shot we can see a cloud of smoke and if you look carefully you can a car wheel.

we can see a yellow, red ish taxi driving towards the camera as the smoke o

The title of the film appears up as the taxi drives away and there is still a little bit of the smoke.
The title is in bold letters which makes it to stand out more.

The names of the actors are displayed. They go from left to right and overlap each other as the next actor appears.

Before the name of the man appears up, we see an extreme close up of a mans face. The colour of the photo changes from red to a normal colour. The colour red associate with danger.

The director

The name of the person who wrote the film is displayed

The name's of the producers are displayed

The name of director is displayed

We see the face of the same man se saw before again.

ART OF THE TILLE

During my AS media project I will be using Art of the tittle to help me improve my work. Art of the tittle is a great use of opening sequences. My first opening sequence will be based upon a James Bond film.
Check it out!

Opening Sequence to Quantum of Solace (2008)

The first thing we see is a man in the distance looking at what seems to be a horizon. This is done so that the audience can only focus on the man.

The man becomes clearer as the camera zooms in towards him and we can see him looking into the sun and this could suggest that the setting of the movie may be in a desert or a hot country.

In this shot it looks the man is trying to reach for something out of his coat pocket. He is still facing into the sun and at the side we can see the names of the producers and author. The way that the a-symmetrical is shown is very interesting.

The image is a little bit more clearer now and i can identify that the mans seems to be holding an object which might be a gun.

Here you can see a full body length of the man hold a gun but can not yet identify his face yet.

His face is not clear yet but it tells you that he is James Bond.

He fires his gun and you can the bullet surrounded by what seems to be sand.

The man seems to be fading and this is because that you can focus more on the bullet flying across.

The title of the movie appears to be in bold and in capital letters with the bullet underneath the heading along with the sand.

The tittle is slowly starting to fade away but the bullet is still there and the background has become more darker and you start to get a better of view of it.

The background is of a desert. there is lots of sand dune and you also tell that the wind is blowing the sand up in the air.

There is a pink, red ish colour in the air
You can the man who is James Bond walking up the hill. It is a long shot of him and you can see everything around him.

The sun seems to be appearing back up.

There is a little bit of flame appearing at the edge of the sun.
